Hoteliers call in the ghostbusters
A Towy Valley hotel is calling in the ghostbusters after a series of spooky happenings.
Carol Lincoln and Nick Evans, who own Llandovery's Castle Hotel, told the Guardian they had been curious about strange noises for some time and felt it as time to investigate.
"There have been many eerie experiences in the hotel," said Carol. "I've heard footsteps and have had a strong feeling that there is a presence in the room when there is no-one there."
Carol and Nick invited the Ghost Investigation Team, who are based in Ammanford, to look into the strange occurrences.
The team is a group of paranormal investigators and mediums who have explored hauntings at Craig-y-Nos, Swansea Museum and Dylan Thomas's boat house.
They started their probe in neighbouring Cawdor House and claim to have detected a lot of activity in the downstairs sitting room and in one of the bedrooms.
"The investigation was fascinating," said Carol. "Mediums Jeannette and Lee picked up on things we hadn't told them, including the image of a soldier seen in a mirror. We are curious rather than frightened."
The investigators have been invited back to continue their probe at the hotel, where guests have reported hearing noises and orbs - which are said to indicate ghostly activity - have been captured on camera.
Among the Castle Hotel's most famous former patrons is Lord Nelson.
