The Heart of Wales Line

The Heart of Wales railway line runs through Ammanford during its 121 mile journey from Swansea to Shrewsbury.

It is a line of rugged beauty, tranquil villages and picturesque Victorian spa towns that are dotted along its length, making it one of the most scenic lines in the United Kingdom. The panoramic views includes the beautiful Loughor estuary near Llanelli, the meandering river Tywi between Llandeilo and Llandovery, red kite in the skies above the Eppynt hills near Llanwrtyd Wells, the Radnor Forest between Llandrindod Wells and Knighton, and the remote borderlands of the English Marches.

Currently four trains serve Ammanford in each direction on weekdays and Saturdays, with two on Sundays.

The live departure information for Ammanford is available on the National Rail site.
